- Is Spider-Man in Venom 3?
Venom: The Last Dance has been confirmed to be the final Venom movie, so there was hope that, maybe, we'd see the long-awaited meeting between Venom and Spider-Man.
Eddie Brock and Venom crossed over to the MCU in the credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and were still there in the Spider-Man: No Way Home credit scene.
They were rudely whisked back to their universe mid-conversation, just as they had plans to head to New York City to go and "speak to this Spider-Man". So they've never actually met Spidey in person, although they did see him in a news report in the Venom 2 credit scene.
There was hope that these crossovers were all building to them facing off in either Venom 3 or the upcoming Spider-Man 4.
Now that Venom 3 is out in cinemas, we have the answer to whether Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in the movie. If you just can't wait to know, then we’re here to help.
Is Spider-Man in Venom 3?
We can confirm that Tom Holland's Spider-Man does not swing by for a cameo in Venom: The Last Dance. There's not even really any hint of it happening at any stage.
The movie does start off in the MCU with a repeat of the No Way Home credit scene as Eddie chats to Christo Fernández's bartender, before Eddie is taken back to his own universe where he remains for the movie.
He ends up back in a bar that looks very much the same, with Fernández playing a variant of the bartender. It's in this bar where a bit of the Venom symbiote is left behind, which is then captured by General Strickland.
(This also resolves the confusion from the trailer as fans thought this scene took place in the MCU and wondered why Chiwetel Ejiofor wasn't Mordo.)
Marvel fans will know that a bit of the Venom symbiote was also left behind in the MCU universe's version of the bar. Perhaps this is how they'll engineer a Venom and Spidey face-off in Spider-Man 4, but it's never mentioned in Venom 3.
Tom Hardy certainly still seems keen for Venom and Spider-Man to meet in a future movie, even if this is the final Venom movie. "I don't think it's over for Venom. There's so much to do with him," he told Extra.
"I think Tom Holland's the best Spider-Man who has ever played. I'm really fond of him. I think he's a great actor and a great kid – I mean, grown man now. I'm an old man. I'd like to work with him."
But for now, we'll just have to wait and see when – or if – the two of them ever meet on the big screen.
